It’s not what you think
I know what you’re thinking. There is one obvious way to improve your relationship when it’s just the two of you are working from home. While intimacy is great for your relationship, the subject of this post is how to deepen your relationship when you are working from home.
A great opportunity
Most of us had the opportunity to work from home during the pandemic. This means we were stuck in the house with our family for many days on end. While that can be monotonous, this situation presents a great opportunity to reconnect with your spouse. There’s no commute, you’re in a safe environment, and you want a break in the boredom. It’s a perfect situation to spend time to reconnect and reflect on your marriage.
What can I do?
There are many ways to carve out some time and spend time with your spouse. My favorite is to take a walk. A 10-15-minute walk around the neighborhood holding hands and talking is magic. You reconnect, get fresh air, and exercise. You can also play a quick board game. Lately, my wife and I have been playing mancala which only takes a few minutes but let’s us talk and flirt. We also like to go outside and have some coffee on the deck.
In Summary
While the pandemic is taking a toll on all of us, there’s always a silver lining to a rain cloud. Use the silver lining of working from home to take small breaks and reconnect with your spouse. These little interactions will go a long way to improve your marriage.
